The Red Serge Sunset Part 2

RCMP sunset

I think only a week has gone bye since I last took a picture of the RCMP painting, but there sure is a big difference!  A friend of mine offered to babysit while I painted, which = almost 3 hours of uninterrupted painting!  It was amazing and I got SOOO much done.  Then, I was going along at my normal clip (40min to an hour a day) and then the weekend came along.  Andres was determined that I get a couple hours of painting in each day, which = almost 4 more hours of painting!  Wow.  I haven’t painted this much in so short a time probably since the Summer of ’09.  That summer I painted about 4-5 hours. EVERY. DAY.  Andres was finishing up his masters degree, and I wanted to have a show that September (in Williams Lake)  I was prolific.  And I think I ended up with 60 pieces or more for my show.  In any case, my goal was to have this painting done by this Friday (the 17th) but I may finish EARLY!!!!!  Wouldn’t that be amazing!  (I actually don’t think that has EVER happened to me before)

In other news, I’m fast becoming “Suzy homemaker” if I do say so myself. 🙂  I have never been really good at planning / organizing things around the house unless I have a lot of time on my hands.  For example, when I worked (and didn’t have a baby) generally dinner would take me between 1-2 hours to make after coming home.  It didn’t seem to matter what I made, it just took that long.  At work, sometimes planning although meticulously done, (and done well if I do say so myself!) did take me probably longer than the average person.  All this to say, I can be a bit absent-minded.  However, if you saw me at work in and around the house yesterday, you would have thought much differently.  While Bunny was sleeping, I made dinner.  In 30 min.  When Bunny woke up, I started laundry, played a bit, and then we went grocery shopping.  When we got home, Bunny was sleeping again, so I made muffins.  This was all within a 4 hour period.  WOW!  Maybe I’m getting better at fitting painting in my day too … I hope I keep improving in my time management!

In any case, back to painting.  When I finish, I will not be able to show the final picture until the client receives it, as that would only be fair.  So hopefully you will see the piece right after Christmas.  All my projects will be finished – what am I going to do with myself! … That didn’t take long … finish my Jesse Tree ornaments of course 🙂  If you’re interested by the way, Josee at Thorns to the Stars has a link up to see some different Jesse Tree ideas – I want to link up once mine are all finished, but you should go take a look – there are some really neat ideas out there!

Thought for the day: Any thoughts on a website facelift?  Have you done this, and is it difficult to do on your own? (Thanks Kristi for that link – I’ve checked it out already 🙂 )
